Online Dask : An Indian-source worker at the UN has declared her application to be its next Secretary-General, the main individual to toss her cap in the ring against occupant Antonio Guterres, who is looking for a second five-year term starting January 2022 as the head of the world association.
Arora Akanksha, 34, filling in as a review facilitator for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), said she will run for the post of the world’s top negotiator and dispatched her mission #AroraForSG this month.
“Individuals in my position should confront the ones in control. We should stand by, jump on the hamster wheel, go to work, hold our heads down and acknowledge that the world is how it is,” Ms Akanksha said in a more than brief mission video posted on the web.
The video shows Ms Akanksha strolling inside the rambling UN central command, as her voiceover says that individuals who have preceded her have “neglected to consider the UN responsible”.
“For a very long time, the UN has not satisfied its guarantee to the world – outcasts haven’t been secured, helpful guide has been insignificant, and innovation and development has been on a low priority status. We merit an UN that leads progress,” she says.
